We’re always excited to introduce new suppliers, and this one is perfectly timed for the coming summer months.

What’s even more exciting for us is the company’s history as farmers and commitment to the environment, which mirrors our own.

Styles Ice Cream is a multi-award winning business based just across the border in Somerset.

Styles have been making ice cream for over 30 years. The Baker family have farmed the land traditionally for generations – and like Coldharbour Farm’s Andrea, decided there was a need to diversify; for them, this was making luxury ice cream. David and Sue Baker worked hard to bring their idea to life, with Sue perfecting the recipe in her farmhouse kitchen. This includes Jersey cow’s milk, the result of a happy accident when the wrong milk was delivered! Since then, Styles have used Jersey milk from Westcott Farm in Tiverton, keeping it local.

From modest beginnings, the business has grown to include three large parlour units, four small ice cream trailers, tent units and a number of trikes.

And then there are the ice cream vans….

Interested in improving the impact on the environment and the customer experience, David began developing solar-powered ice cream vans. While these currently still need to move around using fuel or electricity, once on site they are 100% carbon free during operation.

This commitment to the environment is about to take another leap, as Styles is moving to a new site at Wibble Farm in Williton, Somerset. Wholesale Manager Pete Horsler tells us they are planning to become totally off grid. Like us, they will be using solar power to generate their electricity.

So far, so good.

But what of the all-important ice creams?

Styles make a huge range of flavours, with both traditional and vegan options. At Coldharbour Field Kitchen you’ll currently be able to choose from flavours including Salted Caramel, Rum & Raisin, Clotted Cream, Blackberry & Double Cream, Mint Choc Chip and Vegan Belgium Chocolate. We’re also offering waffle cones, waffle baskets and tubs.

Perfect to enjoy out on the decking whilst basking in the summer rays – which at the same time are powering Coldharbour Field Kitchen – and Styles’ solar powered ice cream vans!

Welcome to Styles Ice Cream, we know our customers will simply love this new addition to the field kitchen.
